OUR STORY
Hachi and his wife Aiko have been working together in restaurants since they opened Iwashi Izakaya in 2013. They have introduced countless dishes that are creative and honest tasting.
“The opening of Iwashi was a milestone for us and also for the ramen lovers in Montreal.” –Hachiro.
“We both have had over 1500 bowls of ramen in our life” –Aiko.
Ramen shop, cooking classes, catering and consultations are their latest activities. Developing new recipes together has been their great pleasure.
Hachiro Fujise
Born in Toronto, Hachiro has been cooking for 18 years across Tokyo, Toronto, Montreal and has experienced head chef in five restaurants. He is known to have great hygiene and transparency. A very optimistic person.
Aiko Fujise
Aiko grew up in Nagano and has professionally worked as a videographer/director for six years in Tokyo. Her experience in working at sushi restaurants also made her disciplined. She has been tremendously helping her husband Hachiro shoot ideas, organize things and oversee the countless projects they have in their hands. A fun and cheerful person.
